We know that physical activity has positive benefits for your physical and mental health and with a number of us now spending more time at home, being physically active is just as important as ever!
We have been busy collating a wealth of “gentle exercises”, “high energy”, “health and wellbeing" and “active family” ideas and opportunities that people can take part in from home which can be accessed on the Active Essex website. Here you will find a number of free and paid-for opportunities that organisations, charities, volunteers, fitness professionals, clubs and celebrities are offering to keep everyone’s bodies and minds active.
Health and wellbeing can mean different things to different people, but health itself is defined as a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. We are aiming to achieve a Healthier Brentwood. Healthier means having or enjoying good health and a sound and vigorous mentality.
Brentwood Borough Council's priorities for a healthier Brentwood are contained in our Health and Wellbeing Strategy.
The Council's Health & Wellbeing Board meet quarterly and are focused on three priority issues for Brentwood:
- Ageing Well
- Tackling Obesity and Improving Physical Health
- Mental Health and Wellbeing
